Turkey Hunting
1. Spring gobbler season is a lottery only hunt. Lottery tickets are on sale during the month of March each year and lottery winners will be drawn 1-2 weeks prior to the opening of the season. Each winning ticket will award the hunter two (2) morning hunts from 0400hrs until 1200hrs. The hunter may bring a guest for calling, observation, etc; however, the guest may not possess or handle a firearm unless approved by 733 CES Staff. Spring gobbler hunting areas are awarded in the random order the hunters are generated by the iSportsman Portal. Each hunter can select 2 mornings at either the same location for both hunts or 2 different locations depending on availability.
2. HARVEST LIMIT:
Hunters are allowed to harvest 1 bearded turkey. Their season is over on Fort Eustis once a turkey is harvested.
3. DATA REQUIREMENTS:
Spring gobbler hunters must proceed to the processing facility and provide biological samples as requested by the Wildlife Biologist. There will be a form that needs to be filled out after each hunt, whether the hunter is successful or not.
Specific questions should be directed to the Wildlife Biologist (757)952-5204.
