Biological speciment collection:

Deer- Please know ALL deer harvested on Fort Eustis (unless you plan to get the deer mounted) must have a jawbone extracted. This should be left in the appropriate area at the game processing facility. We utilize the jawbone to look at the overall age and health of the population. This is a requirement. If you do not know how to remove the jawbone please watch youtube vidoes of this process or follow the pages with pictures that is at the processing facility. Additional, ALL deer must be weighed and any antlers measured, guidance is on the data sheets located at the processing facility.

Turkey- ALL turkeys harvested must be weighed and any beards must be measured. Guidance on how to do this is located on the data sheets located at the processing facility.

Waterfowl- There are times where we will rerquest any waterfowl harvested be tested for avian influenza. An annoucment will be posted on the homepage of iSportsman when this happens.
