We will be teaming up with Fort Eustis MWR to conduct the 2024 Bass Fishing Tournament. This will take place 18 May, 2024 at Fort Eustis Lake. There will be a max of 12 teams, the first 12 teams to obtain a permit through iSportsman will be allowed entry, once we reach 12 teams, permits will cease.Tournament rules are posted below. Please note this is a team tournament, ONLY ONE team member needs a permit, permits are free. Canoes with paddles will be provided by MWR, EACH TEAM MUST bring a working fish live well to participate.

2024 FORT EUSTIS 1st ANNUAL BASS FISHING TOURNAMENT RULES

1.Eligibility- the tournaments are open events. Participants must have a valid Virginia fishing license.

2.PFD’ s must be easily accessible for each participant.

3.You can participate individually or as a team, no more than 2 anglers to a team. At least one angler must be at least 16 years of age. One prize will be given per team.

4.All teams must pre-register before launching. After you launch your boat, please proceed to boat check area.

5.Each team must have a working live well prior to starting and must be viewed by tournament officials prior to launching. A cooler with aerator will count as a live-well, any questions about live wells MUST be asked before the tournament date.

6.All boats entering the tournament must launch at the Lake Eustis boat launch.

7.Before the start of a tournament, each entry will confirm they are participating by signing in with tournament staff.

8.Boat checks/Registration will begin at 0700a.m. Blast off will be at 8:00 a.m.

9.Artificial lures ONLY, NO live bait

10.You may have more than one rod per participant but only one rod per participant may be used at any given time.

11.Only trolling motors allowed. No gas motors.

12.Trolling is prohibited as a method of catching fish.

13.All bass must be caught live on rod and reel, and in a conventional manner (No intentional snagging of bedding fish is allowed.)

14.All fishing must be done from entry boat.

15.Bass presented at weigh-in must be caught during tournament hours, maximum of 3 fish per team at any given time.

16.Each fish must be 12 inches or longer.

17.Total weight per team or entry will determine place, while the net of one fish determines big fish.

18.It is the responsibility of the participants to bring fish up to the weigh-in from the boat, a weigh bag will be supplied.

19.Each dead fish presented at weigh-in will result in a 2lb per dead fish deduction from the total weight. Each fish under 12 inches will not be weighed and will result in a 1lb penalty.

20.Late check in for weigh-in will result in disqualification. All participants must check out of their boat no later than posted tournament end time (1315pm) to qualify for weigh-in.

21.Sportsmanship, courtesy, and safety are expected from each participant. Un-sportsman like conduct will not be tolerated and will result in disqualification without refund.

22.Consumption of illegal drugs is prohibited.

23.Any team wishing to protest the conduct or score of a fellow team must do so immediately, with the tournament official, following the end of the weigh in. The tournament official may however, on their own motion, take up and decide questions relating to participants conduct and score. The Tournament Official’s decision is final.

24.If you have any questions on the rules, be sure to clarify with the organizers prior to blast off.

JBLE I 32-102 Interim Suspension Appeal Process.
Effective Immediately: iSportsman privilege suspension appeals will be in writing to 633d CES Director within 2 weeks of the completion of an investigation.
Participants who have committed, or are suspected of having committed, a violation of JBLE I 32-102 will be placed on administrative checkin hold once a Notice of Violation and Administrative Action (NOVAA) has been issued and remain on hold for the duration of the investigation. A written appeal including the date, time, location, description of the incident, and reason for the appeal must be received by the 633d CES Director within two (2) weeks of the investigation report being finalized by United States Fish and Wildlife Officers (FWO).  Penalties associated with JBLE I 32-102 are described in Appendix A of the document and can be found within the iSportsman Regulations page. Further questions or concerns should be directed to the Wildlife Biologist.

Alert! IAW JBLE I 32-102, if you see soldiers in a hunting area...
1) Make your weapon safe
2) Make yourself known
3) Safely exit the hunting area and checkin to a different hunting area. 

Deer Management Lottery Hunt Qualification.  Hunters who need to qualify for urban deer management hunts(cantonment area and golf course) can do so Mon-Thurs between 0730 and 1400hrs with the Wildlife Biologist.  Please contact (call/text) (757)952-5204 in advance to make sure there is availability. You DO NOT need to qualify to hunt the recreational archery season!
